Emmy Award-winning Costumer and Author of
Color My Style David Zyla to curate a vintage exhibit at
A Current Affair!
April 2-3
Emmy Award-winner David Zyla has been a pioneer of authentic style on the runway, television, and Broadway for twenty years. His belief that style comes from the unique spirit and “style DNA” of each individual stands alone in a fashion world that follows trends and one-size-fits-all dos and don’ts.
Zyla’s rare gift for creating an outward style that reflects an individual’s personality was developed at an early age. “When I was only five, my parents would ask for my opinion on what to wear whenever they had a special event.” This later developed into a philosophy that has given him the opportunity to help thousands of people discover their authentic style and make a mark in all areas of the fashion and design world.
Since 2001, Zyla has been the head costume designer for "General Hospital," "Port Charles," and currently "All My Children," for which he was awarded the 2010 “Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design” Daytime Emmy Award®. He previously had received four nominations. His work on "All My Children" generates more viewer mail than any other daytime drama in history.
Zyla’s unique eye for authentic style makes him a frequently sought-after fashion expert. He has been featured on such programs as, The View, Lifetime’s The Balancing Act, The Jane Pauley Show, CNN Style, and regular segments on SoapNet. He writes an online column “ABC style with David Zyla,” and his work has been featured in Cosmopolitan, Women’s Wear Daily, Brides Magazine, Good Housekeeping, The Chicago Tribune,em> and the Los Angeles Times.
Zyla’s true passion, though, is working one on one with his many private, corporate, and nonprofit clients. His philosophy is, “We all deserve to look and feel our best.”
